St Lawrence Junior School has won the MJ Edwards award from the Surrey Schools Cricket Association for outstanding state primary school in the county for 2023 season, receiving £250 worth of cricket equipment for the school as a result. In the course of a very successful season the team, which is made up of boys now in EMCC U11s and U12s, reached the final of the Geoff Richards Trophy - the first state school to achieve this in over a decade. The school's cricket has been supported by EMCC in recent years through use of the club's playing facilities.
